Mr Bong Chan is a Partner for Clients, Industries and Markets, an also an Audit Partner and Southern China Leader of Centralized Business Development at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in China.
Bong has more than 20 years of professional experience providing audit services to listed companies, large multinational companies and large mainland enterprises in a wide range of industries such as technology, media and telecommunications, manufacturing and property development. He has also led a number of cross-border IPOs and special audit engagements.
Bong has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He is currently a Councillor of CPA Australia – Greater China.
Chibo Tang joined Gobi in 2009. He is based in Shanghai, and currently focuses on the consumer, sports, and media sectors in China. In Hong Kong, he helps to manage the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund, and travels frequently to meet with various startups related to the Alibaba ecosystem.
Chibo has accumulated extensive experience in professional services, local startups, and Fortune 500 companies. He started his career as a strategy consultant with Monitor Group, where he worked across ASEAN and MENA. He also gained valuable operations experience at DMG (a Gobi portfolio company), where he was VP-Corporate Development, and at Robert Bosch, where he was Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy in Asia Pacific.
Chibo received his B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard University. He currently serves on the Board of the Harvard Club of Shanghai.
Dr. Lam is a specialist in paediatric medicine and is now the Chief Executive Officer of Haven of Hope Christian Service. Under his leadership, Haven of Hope Christian Service is one of the pioneers in the provision of holistic care for the elderly in Hong Kong.
He is now the Chairman of the Elderly Commission and he heads the Elderly Commission Working Group on Long Term Care Model and advises the Government on the reform of the related policies. He is also the Chairman of the Community Investment & Inclusion Fund Committee and the Advisory Committee of “The Opportunities for the Elderly Project” of Social Welfare Department.
Dr. Lam has been honored by the HKSAR Government with the Justice of Peace in 2003 and Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2008 for his devotion to public services.
Peter Mok is the Head of Incubation Programmes, Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation. He has extensive experience in sales and marketing of technology products, corporate merger and acquisition, venture capital investment and C-Level executive recruitment. Peter is also responsible for the secretarial office of the Hong Kong Business Angel Network. Peter holds a BA(Hons) degree from HKU, an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and an MBA from CUHK.
Dr Toa Charm, DBA MA, BSc, MHKCS, CBIP, joined Cyberport Hong Kong as the Chief Public Mission Officer in June 2016. As the CPMO of Cyberport, Dr Charm reports to the CEO of Cyberport and serves as a strategic partner in developing strategies and related initiatives to deliver Cyberport’s public mission.
With more than 25 years of leadership and extensive experience in FinTech, big data, business intelligence, and enterprise solutions, Dr Charm brings with him a wealth of experience from private consultancy, public administration, and academic sectors. He has built strong connections with the tech industry and served on a number of advisory boards of universities, start-up communities, NGOs, and other trade organisations including Hong Kong Computer Society, Tung Wah Hospital Group, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He is the EXCO member and Vice President (Innovation and Technology Application) of Hong Kong Computer Society, Founder and Chairperson of Business Intelligence and Big Data, and Founder and Chairperson of FinTech SIG of Hong Kong Computer Society. Dr Charm also served at widely-recognised tech industry players, such as being the associate partner of IBM Global Business Services Greater China, general manager of Oracle, general manager of Kingdee, and regional head of BI Competence Centre for HSBC Asia Pacific.
Dr Charm holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from the City University of Hong Kong, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Minnesota State University.
Dr. Wang earned his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He joined the School of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1992 and was promoted to professor in 1999. He is the founder/CEO of GeneHarbor (Hong Kong) Biotechnologies Ltd, adjunct professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and is the inventor or co-inventor of over 80 patents in the field of biotechnology. Dr. Wang held the first Industrial Research Chair funded by Innovation and Technology Commission of Hong Kong. The company GeneHarbor (Hong Kong) Biotechnologies Ltd he founded has been recognized as a leading company in the biocatalyst industry. Professor Wang is a tutor of HongKong X-Tech Startup Platform and a member of Research Projects Assessment Panel of Innovation and Technology Fund, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Raymond Wong, Head of Investment, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), manages the HKSTP Corporate Venture Fund and investment & business support teams. He has extensive financial services experience in capital investment, portfolio management, mergers and acquisition as well as strategic investment across different sectors in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to HKSTP, Raymond was the Principal in HPEF Capital Partners which is an ex-HSBC private equity firm. Previously, he had software development experience at IBM Laboratory in Toronto, Canada.
Raymond obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science (Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing) from University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Columbia Business School, New York.
Mr. Savio Kwan was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Alibaba Group from 2001 to 2003 and served as Chief People Officer for the year 2004 before stepping down from full-time executive duties and was formerly the Independent Non Executive Director at Alibaba.com since 2008, the listed B2B unit of Alibaba Group, until the company has been privatized in June 2012. During his time at Alibaba, Mr. Kwan saw the company transformed from an internet start-up with just over 150 staffs burning close to US$2M per month into one of the world’s biggest B2B Company with over 2,500 staffs generating over US$5M surplus cash per month.
Mr. Kwan, has 30 years of global management experience, including seventeen years at General Electric and four years as the Managing Director of the China operations of BTR plc, a UK-based Fortune 500 company. Mr. Kwan also served as a board member of the Asia Pacific Advisory Board of York International, a leading global air conditioning system provider and a unit of Johnson Control listed in the New York Stock Exchange.
Mr. Kwan's career includes 17 years of high-level management at General Electric Medical Systems where he had responsibilities for sales, marketing, operations, business development, and establishment of joint venture companies in Asia. Among his accomplishments at GE, Mr. Kwan grew the China Medical business from zero revenues to US$70 million revenues in less than 4 years.
At BTR, Mr. Kwan was Managing Director for the China operations of 8 manufacturing subsidiaries with some US$150M sales which he built through merger and acquisitions in the space of under three years.
In 2005 Mr. Kwan co-founded A & K Consulting with Malcolm Au and serves in the capacity of Partner and CEO. He is also a Visiting Executive Professor of Henley Business School, a unit of Reading University in the UK. He also won the Alumni Achievement Award of the London Business School in 2011.
In January 2014, Mr. Kwan joined the main board of British American Tobacco Group as Non Executive Director.
Mr. Kwan was born in Hong Kong and is a UK national. He pursued an undergraduate diploma at Cambridgeshire College of Technology and received Master of Science degrees from both the London Business School and Loughborough University in the UK.
